    AN AFTERNOON WITH POTUS

Although I am, as many have said, a die hard republican, I have often been critical of our president’s behavior, however I voted for him and back him I do. For that reason, I was very pleased when Dan and I were invited to a private “round table” discussion on taxes to be held by POTUS at the Southpoint Hotel on Saturday afternoon, 6/23/2018.

There were various people seated on the dais including Senator Dean Heller, Attorney General Adam Laxault, the Secretary of Labor, Alex Acosta, and Steve Witkoff who recently purchased the Fontainebleau Hotel and is completing its construction under the name The Drew after his son Andrew who died several years ago. He expects the completion of that hotel will add 7,000 jobs to our city.

Alex Acosta made a point of stating that our Metro Chamber of Commerce’s Mary Beth Sewald had pursuing a shared health plan which would finally enable small businesses to afford insurance for their employees, something they have not been able to do since Obama-care.

The general manager of the Southpoint, Ryan Growney, told President Trump that, thanks to the tax cuts the hotel had been able to give their employees one million dollars in in extra holiday bonus’s. Most employees received, depending on their compensation level, from $500 to $2,300 in bonus checks.

The entire event was extremely uplifting, and I must add that POTUS was a gentleman through the whole event. At the Southpoint at least, there was no name calling, no rude outburst from the room, I was extremely glad we had been asked to go and so very glad we had accepted. I don’t know why Dan looks so mad in this photo, he too was glad we went LOL.

We always watch his rallies & speeches. We were impressed with his subdued mannerism & yes, the enthusiasm of our Republicans in Nevada. However, the battle will be intense to fight the “Blue wave” of ill-informed voters.  How can more Dems be converted???  What plans are being made to educate the uninformed about economics, reason for Fair Trade, Tax cuts etc.???  Was anything discussed for Marketing techniques, rather than relying on ads by candidates?????

Ross Perot had teaching moments, created a huge following.  Is anyone from RNC having seminars in schools, businesses & charitable organizations, etc. etc. ??????

So glad you were invited, as a true advocate for the policies affecting Nevada residents. Hugs, Jan
