Anthem Community Council
I want to encourage readers to attend the next quarterly meeting of the Anthem Community Council that is now scheduled for February 17 at 3 pm at the Anthem Center. I will be there to voice some of my concerns regarding the need for better updated information on their website. In particular they need to have more t…[Read more]

One of the major projects for Anthem Council this year has been tree trimming and removal. The red ribbons on trees mean that they are dying, dead, or severely diseased and are scheduled for removal. The green ribbons on trees mean that they are healthy trees, but are needing to be trimmed. Trees with no ribbon mean that they are fine.

As I stated yesterday, I would be back today to more fully explain at least my reasons for voting to retain the Clarkson Law Group as the Association’s general counsel. The Board issued an RFP for a general legal counsel last spring, because a number of board members were not that happy with CLG (I was one of those individuals) and wanted to see…[Read more]

Hi Rana:
Sometime, I believe in June representatives from the CoH (police, traffic engineering, and a representative of the Mayor) met with management at SCA. I sat in as a representative of the Board. At that time we had a broad discussion regarding a growing concern among residents about traffic and pedestrian safety. Prior to the me…[Read more]

Several comments. A number of people have commented on the removal of center median plants extending from Atchley and then south past Merrimack Valley on Anthem Parkway. The removal of the center median plants were done by an order from the City of Henderson to improve line of sight for those trying to turn off or on Anthem Parkway from Red V…[Read more]

I am pleased that Rana’s column has generated this interest in the Anthem Council. No matter what you believe about Anthem Council, it is important that residents understand what Anthem Community Council is about, how it is a legally structured, and the relationship of it to the six HOA’s that contribute to the Council.
The council has seven…[Read more]

I wanted to clarify the last part of a great article regarding the $87,000 for light poles. What has been explained to me is that Del Webb insisted on having the concrete aggregate light poles that now exist all around the Anthem loop. The agreement then with the City was that they would maintain the street lights as they would on any other…[Read more]

Thank you Rana for raising this issue once again. I believe that the last proposal for a dog park was to locate it on the west side of Independence Center between it and the entry drive into the Anthem and Independence Centers. As I recall, it never got approved because people objected to having it next to the entrance to the two Centers.
I w…[Read more]
