In this forum I guess our opinion will not be a popular one but here it goes…we have lived here since 2003. The original Trumpets was one of the things we truly enjoyed about this place. The view was incredible and the food and service was fantastic. The restaurant even made “The Best of Las Vegas” a couple of times.
I appreciate Favil’s input clarifying some of the history. We would not be sad to have another spot in our beautiful Anthem Center to go for drinks and dinner.
Personally things that have happened here in the last few years does little to return us to our former zeal for living here.

We have lived here since 2003. The first iteration of Trumpets was terrific and we went there often and thoroughly enjoyed it. After the owner got rid of Chef Kevin, who was a wonderful Executive Chef, the quality of food and service went downhill drastically. That was the beginning of the end for Trumpets. All of the restaurants that have been here were open to the public.

We have still tried to support each place (the greatest challenge was supporting the one that followed Trumpets…ugh) but my concern with whatever restaurant goes in the space is that it is very hard to please people in this community. When Vic’s first opened we thought the food was excellent but the constant complaining by the residents became a problem. Frankly, it is difficult for us to understand why, when we live in one of the best age restricted communities in the country, people complain about absolutely everything and there is so much negativity. It has taken a lot of fun out of living here.

As a member of clubs that have events where food is served (like luncheons) it would be nice to have a place where caterers can warm, set up, serve food rather than out of a storage room. I feel if we aren’t going to have a restaurant (when we moved here in 2003, we thoroughly enjoyed Trumpets and used it a lot, I would add) then we need a place where catering companies can actually plate, warm, stage luncheons, etc.

Congratulations, Rana, on this victory. You and Dan worked so hard on this – you should be very proud.

Not that anyone cares what my thoughts are but I am 100% behind you on this. From the beginning I had issues with self management and since it started we have seen issues (like the Spirit magazine). This is OUR community and to have a handful of people (or one person) making all of the decisions is worrisome at best. And who is minding the store?

    Thanks, Rana, for your vision.
