We recovered them when we removed our backyard pond. Hated to throw them away if someone could use them & weren’t planning to charge. They look like the rocks you would see in a mountain stream, or along a rocky beach – very hard, smooth & mottled colors -mostly grayish to some slightly brownish. They range in size from 1+ inch diameter to a few…[Read more]

Had to redo our backyard (former pool) and now have a lot of river rock to get rid of, ranging from small size to a few large ones. They look great in the right setting & would be a shame to trash them. Let me know if you would like to give them a new home. I have pickup & would be glad to bring them to anyone in SSA.

It might cost $750K to convert that one-of-a-kind special space for some particular purposes. I suspect, however, that community members & some clubs in particular could think of ways to use the space for far less. Just one example: At a morning visit to a Del Webb club house in the Phoenix area several years ago, we saw something like an e…[Read more]

Referring back to the GM’s argument that we can’t get a majority to vote on anything. (The fact that we have so many absentee owners much of the time probably contributes to this.) I’m not a lawyer, but doesn’t the following quote of Section 7.9, which Bob Burch noted, indicate that the board can vote on “Change of Services and Use of Common…[Read more]

Jim Furse replied to the topic 8/23 SCA Board votes on Restaurant proposal in the forum Where I Stand 3 years, 10 months ago
It would be nice to be able to believe that we could have a successful restaurant, one that a large portion of residents would like to support – and not to mention, to take advantage of & enjoy that great floor space! We have lived in SCA since 2000, and have been through unsuccessful restaurant attempts so many times before. Unfortunately, not…[Read more]

Jim Furse replied to the topic Let ALL The SCA Members Vote, Restaurant, YES/NO! in the forum Where I Stand 4 years, 3 months ago
YES! We certainly agree that there should be a resident vote, although some may not have direct experience with the past history of our restaurant failures & the reasons for our “recurring” concerns. There are many new arrivals in our community, and some of us that have been around longer may have forgotten some of the history. I don’t know how…[Read more]
