WOW, now I have heard everything! A good friend called me today after returning from a meeting with a top member of our administration. She said to me, Rana, did you have any idea that this recall is going to cost us in the neighborhood of 6 figures?”…….

After I picked myself up from the floor, I asked, “what have you been smoking girlfriend? There a three senators going through a recall effort right now in the city. Las week the R.J. published the cost to the voters of that recall effort and it was several hundred thousand dollars. There are many, MANY more voters to notify, get out to vote, and expenses to cover in a city wide effort than in our HOA debacle. Yet you honestly believe this community is going to cost more than the a Clark County recall, PLEASE!!!!! Would you be interested in purchasing a bridge or two?

Dan bet me that the next claim would be that most of the 800 plus signatures don’t belong to homeowners! Jeeze!

Meanwhile over on the Berman blog his readers, especially former director Carl Weinstien and someone named “Michelle”, (no, not my daughter) believe all the petition signers should bear the cost of the recall. I guess they never heard that this was, and is still a free country where we all have the right of free expression. We all have the right to protest if we feel we have been wronged and we all have the right to oust any one from office if we feel it is the right thing to do.

This is not the first time residents have been unhappy with the SCA board. It is not the first time they have tried and tried to get answers, make changes, and gotten nowhere. It is also not the first time that the candidates have made promises and broken them…. Is it so hard to understand that people have HAD ENOUGH.… The law gives them to the right to recall WITHOUT CAUSE… It is up to the rest of the owners if they win or lose, but not up to the sanctimonious to point the finger of evil as these people are, just because these petitioners are finally standing up for themselves. Shame on you all!

How is this for an idea, to save the cost of a recall, why don’t those four directors step down.. or… try correcting some of the issues that the petitioners have questioned. No? is that one of the directors claims they are committing a crime because they don’t attend committee meetings? Is it better that directors sit sullenly and glare at residents when they ask questions rather than attempting to work things through?

Again I have to ask, is it any wonder people are not happy with this board…..
