    Where were you on 9/11?

Franklin D. Roosevelt once said “This day will live on in infamy” in response to Japan’s surprise attack on Pearl Harbor December 7, 1941. I turned out the United States would face another such tragic and “infamous day” twenty three years ago today.

I doubt that there are more that a handful of people that do not remember where they were, or what they were doing on 9/11/2001.

I was living in Whitney Ranch, going through the motions of getting ready for work and watching the news while my visiting best friend, Jenny, slept in the guest room across the hall.

When the first plane hit the World Trade building I remember running across the hall and yelling at Jenny to wake up and turn on the TV in that room.

We both sat on the bed watching “shell-shocked” not believing what we were watching. I recall, at first, for a split second that it couldn’t really be happening, maybe it was an ad for a new movie.

Now, twenty three years later, that day is just as clear in my memory as it was that terrible day, it does still “live in infamy” too.

How about making sure your US flag is flying today to honor all of those lost on both of those “infamous days.”
