SAVE THE DATE! All Neighborhood Watch Facilitators and Block Captains will be invited to the Neighborhood Watch Volunteer Recognition Event on Wednesday, October 28, at 10:00 a.m. in the SCA Center Grand Ballroom. Join fellow volunteers for light refreshments and a special guest speaker, Officer Alex Alcantara of the Henderson Police Department. The program will include updates from NWP Leadership, distribution of new Neighborhood Watch materials, a Q&A session, and more. Come celebrate the important work you do for our community! NWP Village Leaders and Block Captains will be receiving personalized invitations.
DRONES: We have had a couple of incidents where drones have been cause for concern by SCA residents. If you have any concerns about drones, contact Don Hill at LVHDronePilots@gmail.com . Don is the contact for any SCA issues regarding drones. He keeps track of incidents and can find ways to address problems.
WHO TO CALL: It’s important to understand the roles of Neighborhood Watch (crime prevention information, block captain and village NWP leaders) and the Community Patrol (the 24-hour patrol cars). Both are dedicated to keeping SCA the safe community that it is. For immediate concerns about non-threatening safety issues (such as an open garage door or a water leak), contact the Community Patrol at 702-614-6751 during working hours (8-4) and 702-622-1102 for the CP Watch Commander during non-working hours. For non-urgent issues, contact Neighborhood Watch at neighborhoodwatch@scacai.com or 702-614-5819, but that number may not have an immediate response. You can also contact your NWP block captain or village leader. IMPORTANT: Call HPD 911 for emergencies or 311 to report suspicious activity.
NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH NEEDS VOLUNTEERS: As Sun City Anthem has matured, many of the residents who helped build and lead our Neighborhood Watch Program(NWP) are now retiring from their volunteer roles. Unfortunately, not enough new volunteers have stepped forward to replace them, leaving many villages without Block Captains or Village leaders. We need your help to keep Neighborhood Watch strong. Block Captains are a vital part of the Neighborhood Watch system, serving as the connection between residents, their village, and the NWP. The role can involve a very modest time commitment, while still making an important contribution to the safety, communication, and sense of community within your neighborhood. Other opportunities are also available, including Village leadership and service on the NWP Leadership Team (Board). No prior Neighborhood Watch experience is necessary. Please consider volunteering and helping us continue the strong Neighborhood Watch tradition at SCA. For more information, contact Neighborhood Watch at neighborhoodwatch@scacai.com or 702-614-5819.
