SCA Neighborhood Watch Program
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Good morning Big Sky residents.
I hope our first NW 2026 newsletter finds all of you in good health and uplifted spirit as we begin another new year. We still need some help with Village Facilitators in certain villages (see the 4th paragraph in the newsletter) –so encourage your friends in those villages to consider helping out.
As before, please welcome any new neighbors and encourage them to become participants in the Neighborhood Watch program. Also, please print and pass this newsletter along to your neighbors who do not receive emails. Thanks to all of you for your continued concern for your neighbor and our Big Sky community…keep up the good work.
THANKS TO ALL OUR NWP VILLAGE LEADERS AND BLOCK CAPTAINS FOR YOUR WORK IN HELPING TO KEEP OUR COMMUNITIES SAFE IN 2025! LET’S BE EVEN SAFER IN 2026!
If your home backs on to open space (golf course, park, open desert area, roadway), take extra precautions if the back of your home is accessible, especially if you plan to be away from home. We had three incidents in December (one burglary and two attempted break-ins) involving homes that are accessible from backyard open space. Consider extra precautions: lots of lighting, video surveillance, and secure points of entry. Call 911 if you observe such suspicious activity. If you are aware of any such incidents, please contact NWP below. We need to keep aware of such criminal activity so we can advise SCA residents of precautions to take.
Here’s your 2026 NWP Leadership Team: Officers Don Manning (Chair), Joni Palazzo (Vice Chair), Lennard Grodzinsky (Secretary), Randall Conkright (Treasurer), and At-Large members Mike Messenger, Pat Prevosto, Catherine McCloud and Jeff Worth. We have an opening on the NWP Leadership Team. If you are interested and have been active as a block captain or village leader, please contact NWP below.
Village Facilitators needed: We have openings for Village Facilitators to lead the Neighborhood Watch Programs in four villages: Tall Mesa, Pinnacle, Ridgecrest and Shadow Canyon. Please consider being an important part of our excellent SCA NWP. If you are interested in learning more, please contact NWP below.
Mark Your Calendars: The NWP Spring Safety Event will be held on May 14 in the Grand Ballroom, details to follow. We will have interesting and informative presentations by Henderson Police and/or Fire Departments, and demonstrations by their special units. If you would like to be part of the planning committee, please contact NWP below.
