Rana GoodmanKeymasterTHE 2025 BOARD OF DIRECTORS ELECTION SCREWUP & ITS IMPACT!
By Robert Stern
The reality is we don’t know the impact of the electronic voting fiasco opting in homeowners by default. There are far too many cases of frustration in the community of homeowners just giving up because of the original terrible decisions and continuing faulty communications and lack of ownership of the problem by staff and the board.
While it still seems to be a problem, it is difficult to measure especially when staff and the election committee are stingy in reporting ballots cast.
The latest data on the SCA website shows 791 electronic ballots cast as of April 4 and 645 paper ballots as of April 1. Last year we got weekly reports. What are they covering up? Or is it just more of the same incompetency and failed leadership. We deserve so much better. Regardless, whatever the outcome, the results will stick.
Usually the Community votes between 2800 and 3200 ballots. We are at 1436 as of the above data. We will get a better picture hopefully when the next batch of data is released hopefully today.
I don’t have any predictions but for those that really want a new common sense competent majority and are supporting ballot positions 1,3,,5 and 7 allow me to nag you a bit. Based on my experience in the previous 2 elections I’d feel very good about this election as the precinct captains , as I call them, have been hard at work whipping the vote. But this electronic factor may actually be suppressing the vote. We simply don’t know.
I have a request. Would you all volunteer to be honorary precinct captains for this week and see if you can find one or two homeowners that haven’t voted yet and assist them through your persistence to get their ballots in with 1,3,5 and 7 cast. If you do that, SCA will get what it needs to fix this mess and it is a mess. Thank you from all of us trying to get SCA back on track. We need Jim Mayfield and crew of Jim Sypitkowski, Martin Maxey and Clara Lau as we are lucky they have been willing to step up. It’s in your hands.
Until next time…Robert
