Long before Covid disrupted our lives many of the ladies residing in Big Sky Village joined forces in finding a way to help newly arriving residents to meet, socialize and look out for each other.
I still remember the day, as a relatively new resident in Anthem I opened my front door and met my first new neighbor standing there with a large basket in her hands, a big smile on her face. She shared the news that I had landed in, what would become one of the friendliest communities I had ever known.
As the years went by the ladies of Big Sky socialized in many ways from a light lunch at different homes, a charter bus trip to shows at the smith Center, to BBQ’s including our “other half” to greet the newest spring season.
The group owed nothing to anyone, no rules or regulations, just friendship and a neighborly attitude just like communities before the grip of HOA’s became the structure of control they have become today.
Then along come covid and as I’m sure you remember most social activities stopped and was missed by so many seniors in our community who had come to rely on those events to supply the camaraderie we had come to enjoy and rely on.
Now, to all of you ladies new to Big Sky and those who miss those old fun times, thanks to the help from neighbors who started passing the word that we wanted those days pre-covid back it has “come to pass.”
This is not a formal HOA sanctioned group, it is a social group of ladies who live in the same village and want to enjoy the company of their neighbors without having to get permission from anyone but each other.
For example, 24 of our ladies met December 1st for a White Elephant Exchange and dinner at a local Italian restaurant, fun times changing gifts, “stealing” some from friends and having lots of laughs.
Does this sound like fun to you? If so and you are a resident of Big Sky, jump on board, we would love to welcome you. Feel free to contact me at Rana0527@aol.com
