MARCIA KOSTERKA
KeymasterOne of the things that prompted me to write the following poem was the intolerance of differences in opinions that is prevalent in HOA’s amongst board members and those they are supposed to represent, homeowners. You can agree to disagree, but being dismissive of other opinions is disrespectful in my opinion.

Stay the same, take the blame.
Embrace the thunder, some call it blunder.
Accept the mission, full of tradition
Then live a lie, until you die.
Dare to care, while few things fair.
If you know whom you are, why then…have you reason for shame?Born to be wild, or choose to be mild.
See a tree in your heart, and behold fine art,
While others may see, just one more tree.
Some may think, you intend to deceive
If red they think, but you see pink.
You are what you are, you…become you…as a child.Go against the grain, what others do, you refrain.
Some hang with the club, for you, too loud.
“Hey, tag along with me, go where the fun will be.”
For me, a quiet night with the stars, give me Jupiter and Mars.
If you prefer ballet, what more need you say.
Be evermore thankful, for whatever your ticket to life contains. If good you intend, why, must you defend.
What works for their soul, may not be your goal.
Be not afraid to voice, your freedom of choice,
But respect one another, and the words they may utter.
No matter what we seek, we really are unique.
We all are created equal, and we surely will be till the end.Never be hypercritical, of those not typical.
Judge not their hair, nor the clothes they wear,
Judge not their skin, nor if women or men.
View the world each given day, and let it come as it may.
Listen, when told you never will, then rally…straight up the hill.
Be not ashamed, but…Be Thou Different…if that is truly how you feel. One of the things that prompted me to write the following poem was the intolerance of differences in opinions that is prevalent in HOA’s amongst board members and those they are supposed to represent, homeowners. You can agree to disagree, but being dismissive of other opinions is disrespectful in my opinion.
