Since it has been reported that we seniors are at a higher risk of coming down with Corona Virus than younger people, although I recently was tested and come out negative, I thought I would take a look at some risk factors and symptoms and see just how I stack up. You might want to also take a look at yourself and/or someone you care about.
First I considered age, I am well into my 70’s so next came where I am mostly at risk, which I’d think would be health risk factors. I have asthma, type 2 diabetes, lung and coronary issues… Hmmm, not a great start. My next step was to research the common symptoms.
Runny nose? Yes, I have had one however the pollen count was high and I do have Hay Fever.
Headaches? No, just fine in that area.
Fever? No, I’m cool as can be, indoors of course (smile)
Chest congestion? No
Sore throat? No
Nausea/vomiting? No
Coughing? Some, but that fits with asthma too.
Tightness in chest? No
Shortness of breath? No
Thank goodness I have enough “no” answers, but if you responded yes to many of these symptoms please check with your doctor, any or all could be a sign of Covid 19 and caution is always best. Please don’t forget to wear a mask or face shield if your health prevents you from wearing the mask.
