APRIL 28TH AT SOLARA CLUBHOUSE

For the last few years residents of Sun City Anthem and Solara have been asking the City of Henderson to do something regarding what has become known as “the Anthem Speedway”. A righteous name for Anthem Parkway just past the fire station heading toward Inspirada.
Meeting were held PREVIOUSLY with several council members requesting anything from a Stop lights to 4 ways stop signs to no avail.
In spite of the petitions that were signed by large amounts of residents, the answer always came back with “sorry but there is no funding for traffic lights.”
Each day, in this senior community where many residents can be seen walking each day, thus far nothing much is being done to improve pedestrian safety. BUT, while you hold that thought, ROUND-ABOUTS seem to be in the planning stages for two other areas of the Anthem Community (I guess there is $$$$ for that!)
There is a Town Hall meeting regarding this issue at the Solara Clubhouse on Sommersworth, just off Anthem Parkway) April 28th from 10:30 am to 12:00, PLEASE attend if possible.
Our city needs to step up and do something before the “Mario Andretti” type drivers so anxious to “zoom” down that hill kill someone who is just trying to cross the street and “roundabouts” (no where near this section of Anthem Parkway) are NOT THE ANSWER!
It seems, to the size of the facility, the meeting at Solara is for those residents only. I have requested, from SCA board and management, a Town Hall Meeting in SCA at Anthem Center to discuss these two issues, (roundabouts and the speeding on Anthem “speedway” Pkwy) heading towards Bicentennial pkwy.
I met with Mayor Michelle Romero 4/11 and she is all for another Town Hall so we are just waiting for an approval, date and time from Sun City Anthem so that we can get the word out to our residents. Your comments and thoughts are welcome.
