Some day a moment of destiny,
    Will arrive at your door.
    Clothed in evidence so apparent,
    That it is here forevermore.
You wanted it, you dreamed of it,
Less was not enough, you knew it existed.
The eyes of a cat were watching,
The drive of a gnat persisted.

It wasn’t a measure of wealth achieved,
    Nor pursuit of satisfied grandeur.
It’s a search of instinct, and search we do,
Down a long winding road we meander,
With a longing to feed a lingering hunger,
And above all others, to satisfy it only.
    Because every hungry soul knows,
It doesn’t have to be alone to be lonely.

Then one day, a vision of a shadow once distant,
Appeared without fanfare, and settled near the heart.
And soon it was apparent, it was never a stranger,
For what has arrived, will stay and never depart.
Two shall become a blend of one,
And the void has gone, there is left no sign.
Where once was pain of a bleeding heart,
Is now only your heart and mine.

The time was right, and deservedly due,
Two paths now crossed, from a journey now ceased.
A new one begins, as swollen buds of a flower,
That patiently waited, for nature’s blessing of release.
Two lonely souls with a lifetime to imagine,
One special day, each knew would come.
Something new is born, of hearts so tender,
When that time arrives, as a captive heart surrenders.
