Thank you Kristi Lonsiner for giving me permission to post your email to me regarding the above post. Readers, Kristi, a long time resident of SCA has been working for several years to acquire RTC Paratransit for our many seniors who no longer drive. Please read her comments below.
Hello Rana,
So RTC is going to pay for the roundabouts! Our tax money is going to fund services we are not allowed to use. Shameful!
Regarding my efforts to win Paratransit in SCA. I would like to bring you up to date on what I continue to work on. You are such an important voice in our community I want you to be aware of the lack of interest with our public officials.
This is the timeline—
July 2024– spoke with Mayor Romero, no response
December 2024– spoke with Lisa, Mayor’s Chief of Staff, she passed me off to Terri Reed at RTC
December 5– Terri Reed called me—same answer, no service for SCA, border not changing
April 2025– I wrote to Governor Lombardo, no response from his office
July 2025– I called Governor’s office, spoke with Ryan Cherry, Chief of Staff, he suggested I speak with Michele Shull, Executive Assistant, who receives the mail.
July 15, 2025– I called Michele, she did not recall my letter, she asked me to resend to her attention. I sent it same day.
July 29, 2025– I called Michele, out of office, will be back on August 4. She forwarded my letter to Governor Lombardo to Clark County Commissioner Naft. His assistant, Rachel Glaze, referred my letter to Marin Dubois, Government Affairs Supervisor, RTC.
July 30, 2025– Antonette Braddock, Director of Paratransit, RTC , called me. She was told I had questions. I said no questions and provided 20 years of history trying to secure Paratransit for SCA. She said no consideration for SCA service, no border change. I said this is discriminatory and not fair to seniors.
August 12, 2025– I called Rachel Glaze, left message, no call back.
August 14, 2025– I called Rachel Glaze, left message, no call back.
August 26, 2025– I spoke with Rachel. I asked if Commissioner Naft had actually seen my letter. She did not answer my question.
September 11, 2025– I called Kaity Long, Executive Assistant to Commissioner Naft, left message
September 16, 2025– Kaity Long called me. When she realized why I reached out to her she transferred me back to Rachel. I suggested Commissioner Naft has no interest in helping Seniors and please do not have RTC call me again.
October 9, 2025– I was able to meet Lt. Governor Stavros Anthony in person. I hand delivered my letter to him and a copy of the Governor’s letter along with the timeline of SCA and RTC.
October 10, 2025– I received a very nice email from Stavros Anthony. He suggested I speak with his staff member, Sally Christensen.
October 15, 2025– Sally Christensen called me. She suggested I contact the RTC Board of Directors.
January 8, 2026– I wrote a timeline letter to Jim Seebock, Joe Hardy and Tracy Larkin-Thomason who is the Director NV Department of Transportation (NDOT).
Jim Seebock is the only one to respond. Weeks passed but he said he brought the subject to the Board. No progress was made. I emailed with him several times.
May 1, 2026– I called Americans With Disabilities. They told me the complaint would have to be filed with the Nevada Department of Transportation.
