The traffic situation along Anthem Parkway is a mess. A roadway, with a speed limit of 45mph while traffic flows unabated at 55 to 60. Couple that with sparse controls which allow for reasonable access by vehicles and pedestrians entering or crossing Anthem Parkway, a chaotic scene. Anthem Parkway may meet Henderson Traffic Department Policy Standards, but that doesn’t mean the Traffic Policy and related design standards cannot be changed to accommodate more current Engineering Guidelines. The Mayor and City Council are responsible for establishing roadway policy.
Reducing the speed limit to 35 mph may be an acceptable option. This speed limit change may be a great way to avoid much more expensive alternatives or Policy changes.
